Basic First Aid and CPR Courses
For School, Workplace and Home
Basic First AId
Basic First Aid in Ontario equips individuals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to assist someone who has been injured or has become suddenly ill until emergency medical services arrive. Training emphasizes recognizing emergencies, conducting an initial assessment, activating the emergency response system, and providing appropriate care to help preserve life and reduce the risk of further harm.
We offer the First Aid Program in English only. To find a First Aid Program training provider that offers the full program in French, please visit the WSIB First aid program website.
Intermediate First Aid
Intermediate First Aid is a more in-depth workplace first aid program designed to prepare participants to manage a wide range of medical emergencies and traumatic injuries until emergency medical services assume care. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on skill development, emphasizing scene safety, casualty assessment, effective communication, and evidence-informed first aid interventions.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
A CPR and AED course teaches participants to identify and respond to cardiovascular emergencies, choking incidents, and cardiac arrest. The training covers high-quality chest compressions, rescue breaths, and the safe, effective operation of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
You choose the delivery: Blended Learning or Fully In-Person
Blended Learning:  our most popular program delivery option. This program is offered in a two part delivery. In the first part (online), students complete the program theory content at their own pace through our learning management system portal. Once the online content is complete, students attend an in-person skills consolidation at one of our Approved Training Providers’ locations to learn and demonstrate skills.
Â
In-Person training: Â ideally suited for employees who prefer to learn both the theory portion of the program and the practical portion of the course fully in-person with one of our Paramedic Instructors.
