In early May 2011, The Ontario Primary Care Paramedic Fieldguide turned seven years old and passed a major milestone: 10,000 copies sold. We are quietly proud of the achievement of this little handbook.
From a humble beginning as a 25 page “reminder” for the author, to it’s current iteration as a 310 page “must-have” reference for Ontario Paramedics, the fieldguide has received widespread support from both paramedic students and working medics alike. The Ontario Primary Care Paramedic Fieldguide is used in many of Ontario’s PCP programs as a valuable teaching and learning aid.
The book is a constantly evolving project and will grow again with the revision of the Ontario Base Hospital protocols and new Heart & Stroke Foundation Cardiac Life Support protocols as well as the addition of more common over-the-counter and prescription drugs to our already comprehensive listing of medications.
